William (Bill) Bickford, 81, of Oakland, NJ, passed away on April 7, 2024, in Ridgewood, NJ.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 59 years, Carmen.

Bill was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam era stationed in Germany servicing nuclear weapons.  After his service he began a 33 year career with PSE&G, retiring as a supervisor.  In his golden years he enjoyed being a crossing guard with the Oakland Police Department for 20 years.

During all of his accomplishments, Bill became a loving and supportive father to Anthony Bickford and his wife Carrie, and Andrea Knapp and her husband Bob.  Bill was an amazing and doting grandfather (Poppi) to six grandkids, Vicki, Sarah, Jay, Julia, Gavin and Isabella.

A private service was held.  If you would like to commemorate Bill's life, memorial gifts to Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge (RABARI) in Oakland, NJ, would be appreciated.
