Zoppo, Riva "99 years young" of Oakland, NJ On Sunday, heaven welcomed an angel with one of the strongest, sweetest hearts we have ever known. Riva Zoppo was such an inspirational and kind hearted woman. She loved everyone she was around and was the centerpiece of our family. Riva Zoppo passed away on March 28, 2015, born on February 6, 1916 in Paterson, N.J. and for the past sixteen years has lived in Oakland N.J. Predeceased by her loving husband Eugene Zoppo. She leaves the memories with her children, Dorathea Zoppo, Judith Zoppo Filyaw, Gene Zoppo and daughter in law Barbra Zoppo. Her grandchildren Laura Heins and husband Harry Heins Sr.,(Predeceased granddaughter Gina), Jason Filyaw and partner Tarah Marson, Damian Zoppo & Wife Tammy Zoppo, and Andrea Zoppo. Great grandchildren, Harry Heins Jr. & partner Megan Sowa, Kevin Heins, Nataly and Eleanor Zoppo, Gracie and Cade, great great grandson Mason Thomas Heins, and Riva's sister Helen Buchanan. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland N.J. on Wednesday April 1st, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:30a.m. at the Oakland memorial home and immediately following she will be interred at Calvary Cemetery located on Lakeview Ave., Paterson N.J.
