Peter J Wawak, 69, son of Mary and Peter Wawak, both deceased, of Jersey City, died at his Oakland home on March10, 2014. Peter, who was born May 18, 1944 in Jersey City, graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 1962 and Seton Hall University, South Orange in 1966. He was married for 47 years to Maryann (Klein) Wawak and was a resident of Oakland for 40 years. Peter worked in administrative positions for various area hospitals and was the CEO of HROI, a hospital Medicare/ Medicaid reimbursement consulting company, for 10 years prior to his retirement in 2012. He loved to travel and he and his wife toured extensively in the United States and Great Britain. He is survived by daughters Amy Wawak of Oakland and Beth Pedrick of Denver and son Christopher Wawak of Collingswood, NJ. He has one grandchild, Quinn Pedrick of Denver. The family is requesting that donations be sent to the Oakland First Aid squad in his memory.
