Patrick (Pat) Flannery Sr. of Oakland, NJ passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021. Pat was born in Galway Ireland on March 22, 1941. He immigrated to the United States in 1962 and settled in the Bronx, NY. Pat served 2 years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Pat married Mary Ellen Cassidy in 1967 and moved to Brooklyn, NY. Pat and his young family lived in Teaneck, NJ for several years where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2586. The family eventually settled in Oakland, NJ where Pat resided for the past 40 plus years. Pat was a splicer for Con Edison for 40 years and retired in 2001. He was an avid Yankees fan and gardener. In his retirement, Pat enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. Pat is survived by daughter Kathleen Callahan, and her husband, Gerard, son Patrick Flannery Jr., and his wife, Traci, daughter Deirdre McGinty, and her husband, Pete, 11 Grandchildren: Thomas, Mary Kate, Brendan, Sarah, Kade, Mark, Patrick III, Lily, Sean, Liam and Maggie and numerous nieces and nephews Pat was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ellen and his 8 brothers and sisters.
