Marylyn Fernandez, 71 passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2017 in Oakland NJ. Marylyn was born on July 5, 1946 in Passaic, NJ to J. Daniel and Elsie Barwick. She married Paul Fernandez in 1971, and the couple had two children. Marylyn lived in Oakland for the majority of her life and was an active member of Ponds Reformed Church. Marylyn is survived by her beloved husband Paul of Oakland, NJ; her daughter Stacie Mayock and son in law Brian Mayock of Oakland, NJ; her son Russell Fernandez and daughter in law Patty Fernandez of Hoboken, NJ; Her grandchildren Shayna, Brandon, Blake and Zachary; and her brother Dave Barwick of Jonesboro, GA. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Marylyn is scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday September 10, 2017 at Ponds Reformed Church in Oakland NJ, with a reception to follow. Pastor Nathan Busker will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marylyn's life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ponds Reformed Church can be made in Marylyn's name.
