Mary (Blaskow) Zahn, Age 91-Mary passed away peacefully at the Health Center of Bloomingdale on February 20, 2022, in Bloomingdale, NJ. Mary was born in the General Hospital in Passaic, N.J to Josephine and Bert Blaskow on August 13, 1930. She was united in marriage to John H. Zahn Jr. on April 27, 1963 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church in Passaic, NJ. Mary grew up in Passaic, NJ and attended the Passaic Public School System, She worked in the garment industry for numerous companies and was a member of the UHNRF Union #158 out of NY before retiring in 1989. In 1966 Mary and John moved to Garfield, NJ where they raised their son. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed attending her son's sporting events and especially the football games. She also loved spending quality time with her two grandchildren. Mary enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore, loved to dance and was an avid walker. Later in life, Mary moved to Pompton Lakes and lived in the Pompton Lakes Senior Housing apartments which was walking distance to all of the stores in the center of town. Mary is survived by her son, John W. Zahn and his wife Donna, of West Milford, a sister Rose Messina of Hawthorne and two grandchildren, John P. Zahn and Ashley R. Zahn. Also surving are numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John H, Zahn Jr, her parents, Josephine and Bert Blaskow, her siblings Bert Blaskow Jr, and Dorothy Rinker.
