Hewitt, NJ (formerly Eastham, MA and Oakland, NJ) Lisa N. Burns, Age 84 (nee Nieswandt) Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Lisa N. Burns passed into life eternal on June 19 2021 in Newton,NJ. She was born in East Prussia, Germany, escaped from the Russians during World War II and grew up and was educated in Ludwigsburg, Germany. 1958 Lisa settled in the United States; 1959, she married Karl H. Burns of Oakland, NJ and raised a family and worked as a Secretary for several companies and retired from Russ Berrie & Co. in Feb. 2001. Lisa was a Christian and loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She liked to volunteer at her church and Senior Center. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, entertaining, cooking and baking. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Michele Gallo & Her Husband Russell of Hewitt, NJ, Lynn Non & Her Husband Michael of Port Jervis, NY and 1 son, Ray Burns & Wife Connie of Florida, NY, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her Husband Karl H Burns, son Gregg O Burns. Her parents Otto and Alice Nieswandt and a brother Meinhard Nieswandt, all of Germany.
