Julia M. Ponte (nee Addesso) passed away peacefully at Chilton Memorial Hospital on March 1, 2025, at the age of 97surrounded by family.

Julia was born on March 16, 1927, in Bronx, New York.  She grew up in Bronx, New York before moving to Oakland in 1964.  Julia went to school for Seamstress Design.  She married the love of her life, Ignace Ponte on September 11, 1948, before losing him in 1999.  They lived in Bogota, NJ before moving to Oakland in 1964.  She devoted her life to being a homemaker raising their 2 children in Oakland.

Julia is survived by her 2 sons William (ex- Chris) and Peter (Pamela) and 4 grandchildren Carrie (Greg), Vincent, Zachary and Heather.

She is predeceased by her brother Frank Addesso and sister Gloria Addesso.

Visitation will be held at Oakland Memorial Home on Wednesday, March 5, from 4PM to 8 PM.  A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 117 Franklin Avenue in Oakland, (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) followed by a burial at Mary Rest Cemetery in Mahwah.
