Obituary

Please share a memory of Jennie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jennie Constance Donohue (née Arena), born October 19, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on June 17th, 2022, at the age of 90.

Born to Giovanni and Marietta Arena, and wife of the late William Donohue, Jennie grew up in Paterson along with siblings Pierina "Perry" Disimino, Nancy Ottogolli, and Vincent Arena, all predeceased. Jennie graduated from Eastside High School, Class of 1950, and worked as an administrative assistant at Hoffman LaRoche.

She met William Donohue at a mutual friend's wedding. They quickly fell in love and got married in 1957. Bill and Jennie settled down in Oakland, NJ, where they raised their four children: William Jr. of Valentine, NE, Brian of Columbus, GA, Michael of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Colleen D'Angiolillo of Denville.

Jennie was a woman of faith, a devout Catholic and founding parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for over 60 years.

Naturally being a Jersey girl, Jennie loved Wildwood, Atlantic City and Cape May. She enjoyed many cruises over the years, and a trip to Ireland as well. Nothing gave her more pride and joy than grandsons Michael Donohue and Aidan, Ian and Colin D'Angiolillo. She also cherished her nephews, nieces and their families.

After 55 years in Oakland, Jennie and Bill moved to Riverdale where they enjoyed their retirement years to the fullest.
