Gregory D. Kelly passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice. He was 83 years old.
Greg was born in the Bronx, New York, on December 27, 1941, and resided in Oakland, NJ for 37 years.
Gregory proudly served the National Guard for ten years. He began his career with NY Telephone and later joined the National Automatic Sprinkler Industry (NASI) as a pipefitter. Upon receiving the rank of journeyman, he started his own business, Affordable Fire Sprinkler, Inc. specializing in commercial fire suppression systems.
In 2015, Gregory earned his Master's Degree in Theology from Seton Hall University. He was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help where he taught CCD and filmed mass for the local TV network for 20 years. He was an integral part in the establishment of the Oakland Communications Network and was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus and Elks.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Anne; five children: George, Charles, Brian, Elizabeth, and Denise; daughters-in-law, Amanda, Ashley, and Valerie; son-in-law, Ed; nine grandchildren: Christopher, Abigail, Kelly, Meghan, Mattigan, Easton, Tessa, Colton, and Ryan; his brothers, Arthur and Ed; and his cousin, Joan Broe.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 9-10am at Oakland Memorial Home followed by funeral services at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 117 Franklin Avenue, Oakland, NJ.
Burial will take place after funeral services at Mary Rest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ.
