George Larry Whritenour, 61, of Butler, NJ, passed away on August 24, 2016. George was predeceased by his father, George Whritenour, and his mother, Gloria Lind, of Butler, NJ, on September 23, 1954. He is survived by his stepfather, Arthur (Bob) Lind, his childhood sweetheart, fiancé Connie Dolan, and two stepchildren, Brad Dolan and his wife Sandi, Kelly Gross and her husband Michael. He was blessed to have four grandchildren; Jayden, Marley, Harper and Mikey. He went to Butler High School and was a machinist for his entire career. His hobbies included vegetable guarding, hunting and fishing, as well as wood working and making stained glass. George belonged to the Lakeland Goldenaires Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Pompton Lakes where he pursued his passion for playing the drums. He enjoyed listening to country music and playing his guitars. He loved to go camping and travel to destinations such as the Poconos, Cape May, NJ and Mystic, CT where he loved his "fish & chips". He also loved his beagle's dogs. George was also a big fan of the New York Giants and Yankees. "A Gathering to Celebrate George" will be held at Connie Dolan's residence located at 1283 Ringwood Ave 1st Floor, Haskell, NJ 07420 on Saturday, September 3rd from 11am-2pm
