Frank J. Paternoster, 97, of Oakland, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019—his 69th wedding anniversary with his late wife, Rose L. (née Monaco) Paternoster.

He leaves his daughter Joy Rock and her husband Kevin, along with his three granddaughters Lindsay, Nicole, and Kayla. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters Francis Novello and Louise D'Aquino, and his brother James Paternoster.

Frank was a proud World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1942 to 1946. He then returned to his job at Becton Dickinson and Company in East Rutherford, NJ.

Frank met his wife Rose at a dance, and they were married on February 18, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst, NJ.

Frank had a passion for gardening and boxing. He also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Some of his happiest times were spent with his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters in his home, which he shared with them for the past 22 years. The memories of him will live on in their home and hearts forever.
