Ellen Frances Monaghan,(nee Archibald) on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at her home and with her family at her side, of Mahwah, New Jersey, formerly of Oakland, NJ, quietly passed into eternal rest. Ellen was born on May 4, 1930 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of Mary C. and George F. Archibald. Ellen married Kenneth G. Monaghan on October 17, 1953. Ellen took great joy and pride in her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ellen was a life time member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Rosary Society. She enjoyed her summers in Quogue, LI with her family. She was a member of the Ramapo Mountain Lakes Country Club. Ellen is survived by sons Kenneth G., Jr. (Denise), Thomas A (Lisa), Christopher J. (Julie), Mark F. (Diane), Maryellen Mullikin (Richard), James P. (Marybeth) and Stephen R. (Michelle). She is pre-deceased by her infant son Brian Joseph. She is also survived by grandchildren Patrick R. (Domenica), Brendan T., Andrew B., Thomas E., Caroline E., Brian J., Tracey E., Matthew B., Alexandra M. Mullikin, Luke T. Mullikin, Spencer R. Mullikin, Bridgette C. Mullikin, Nicole K. Miller (Christopher), Danielle R., Emily G., Sean J. and great-grandchildren Brynn M. and Giancarlo P. Ellen is also survived by loving sisters Patricia McCabe (Peter) and Sister Georgellen (Mary Lucy) Archibald RSHM and nieces Mary Cecilia McCabe, Catherine Spindler, and Georgiana Dubin as well as dear friends Gloria Ellerbusch, Joni Mulcahy, Muriel Trainor, Mary Duva, Elaine Sosne amongst others. Funeral Liturgy Saturday May 11, 2013 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 117 Franklin Avenue Oakland, NJ (everyone please meet at church) Burial Maryrest Cemetery Mahwah, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit at the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ on Friday May 10, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
