Eleanor Lee Richardson,86, Oakland
Eleanor passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024.
She was born September 6,1938, in Paterson, NJ to William and Madalene Richardson.
A brother David Alfred Richardson survives.
She was known to family and friends as "Lee" and lived in Oakland her entire life.
She was married to Joseph F. Eilert Jr (d 1995) on April 19, 1958. They raised four children; JoAnn Douglas (Edward) of North Carolina, Steven Eilert (Jill) of Wayne, and William Eilert (Amy) of Oakland. Son Edward Eilert (Virginia) deceased 2023.
Lee leaves five grandchildren; Jason, Danielle (Marc), Joseph, Benjamin and Samuel, four great-grandchildren, Jason, Emma, Olivia and Georgia, and nieces Stacey (Jerry) and Karen (Matthew).
Lee worked in the medical field as a lab technician and medical assistant while at St. Joseph's and Chilton Hospitals. Lee was a professional musician. She taught piano and led the music ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Oakland for 15 years, and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hackensack for 25 years. Lee was well known in the community for her skill at the organ, especially leading choirs of voice and handbells, weekly masses, weddings and funerals, Easter week and Christmas programs and the Station of the Cross performances. Lee was a Life Member of the American Guild of Organists.
Lee took pride in her home, garden and family and she will be missed.
