Edward Sikorski, age 78, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013. Edward was a devoted husband to Doris Thielemann Sikorski for 55 years. Residents of Oakland, New Jersey since 1960, Edward and Doris raised three children, David Sikorski, Patricia Sikorski Gerber and Thomas Sikorski. Edward was an inspiring father who instilled in his children, and their spouses, Kathi O'Shea, Stephen Gerber and Audra Schwartz, his love of and stewardship for nature. Grandfather to Michael Gerber, Nicole Gerber, Zachary Sikorski, Jake Sikorski and Daniel O'Shea, and great grandfather to Makayla O'Shea, he was always on the sidelines or in the audience at their sporting and other events, and taught them everything from important life lessons to how to cast a line and catch a fish. He was always interested, always there and always loving. Edward was also a longtime member and Board Member of the East Jersey Chapter, Trout Unlimited, a group focused on the conservation and protection of cold water fisheries.
