Diane Corry Barton 82, of Oakland, NJ passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday August, 12th 2014, to join her beloved husband Vincent. Visitation will be on Monday, August 18th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19th at 11 am at Ponds Reformed Church, 341 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ. Diane was born August 12, 1932 in East Orange, NJ; the daughter of Gladys Singer and Matthew Corey. She married Vincent Barton on April 19, 1952. A graduate of Newark School of Fine & Industrial Arts, her passion for the Arts and education lead her to continue her studies at William Paterson College, both BA and graduate studies, and the Parson's School of Design. Diane and Vince enjoyed life to the fullest: traveling the world, summers in Stone Harbor, NJ, date nights at China Paradise, and hosting excellent backyard pool parties. Her legendary pancakes, sugar cookies, and mac & cheese, were and will remain her grandchildren's favorites. An accomplished artist of multiple mediums, her home and children's homes are filled with her beautiful, award-winning creations. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Cheryl Gorman and husband, Ken, Carol Yingling and husband Bob, Holly Gross and husband Keith; Diane leaves behind six grandchildren, and brother John Corry and sister Sondra Corry. She was predeceased by Vince, her loving husband of 45 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ponds Reformed Church, 341 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436, where they will be used to help those in need within the local community.
