Obituary

Simmers, David F. age 76 of Oakland, NJ. died quietly at home on April 13, 2013. Born in Altoona, PA he lived in Oakland since 1973. Before retiring in 1999, he was an Electrical Engineer and Program Manager for BAE Systems in Wayne, NJ for over 40 years. Mr. Simmers received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 1959, his MSEE from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961 and his MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1989. and was a member of the Ponds Reformed Church in Oakland, NJ. David is survived by his loving wife Georgina W. (nee Sellars) Simmers of Oakland, NJ two sons Jeffrey and his wife Eileen and their children Lauren and Michelle of West Milford, NJ and Matthew and his wife Debra and their children Matthew, Thomas and Andrew of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Devoted brother of Betty Criswell of Altoona, PA, Betty and her husband Joe Oxley of Glendora, NJ and sister-in-law Shirley Simmers of Stratford, NJ. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 11 AM at the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson's Support group of Ridgewood, NJ c/o Gene Provost 24 Sky Top Road Wantage, NJ 07461 or the Ponds Reformed Church 341 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ 07436 would be appreciated.
