Obituary

Obiso, Daniel 89 of Oakland, NJ on June 12, 2016. Served in the U.S. Army in 1945-46 during the European occupation following World War II, stationed in Austria and Germany. He was a Private, First Class and was honorably discharged. Mr. Obiso was an active member Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oakland since its opening in 1960 and served as an Usher for nearly 50 years. Dan was a truck and automobile mechanic for his entire career, spanning over 45 years. He worked at Nu Car Carriers in Mahwah for over 20 years until its closing in 1980. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a vehicle mechanic until his retirement in 1992. Daniel was a Charter (Founding) Member of the Knights of Columbus Ramapo Valley Council #5846 in Oakland, NJ which recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary. He was a member of VFW Post 5702 in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday June 18 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 117 Franklin Ave Oakland, NJ. Followed by a burial at Christ the King Cemetery Franklin Lakes, NJ. Friends and family may visit the Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ on Friday June 17 from 4-8 PM.
