Claire Shine

Claire Shine, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on August 9, 1932, Claire dedicated much of her life to education as a teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where she inspired countless students with her passion and commitment to learning. She retired when the school closed in 1993.

Claire was an active member of the community, having been a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and an enthusiastic participant at the Oakland Senior Center. She had a special love for card games and often gathered with friends to enjoy friendly competitions. Claire also cherished her trips to Atlantic City, which created many joyful memories over the years.

Family was everything to Claire. She leaves behind her son Arthur G. (ToniAnne), her son Andrew (his partner Laura) and daughter Claudia (John). Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her grandchildren, Christina Manfredi, Rachel Seibert (Jake), and Michael Shine (his partner Jana).

Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A Shine and her parents, Hector & Edna Jacques.

Friends and loved ones will gather for memorial visitation at Oakland Memorial Home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 & 5:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes on May 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM.

Claire will be fondly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the unwavering love she showed to those around her.
