Catherine Obiso, born Catherine Liotard, age 93 formerly of Oakland, NJ passed away on May 31, 2022. She is predeceased by her late husband, Daniel Obiso, her brother, Robert and her half sister, Gladys Farino. She has one surviving brother, Paul who lives with his wife, Rosie in North Carolina. She is also survived by her 5 children: Anne Block and her husband, Michael of Ramsey, Rose Murray, Daniel Obiso and his wife, Beverly of North Carolina, Joseph Obiso and his wife, Karen of Saddle Brook and Theresa Page and her husband Tom of Maine. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Catherine was very active volunteering with her church and the school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help which her children attended. For many years, she helped in the cafeteria as a lunch server and in the school library. She also drove a carpool. She was a long time member of the Rosary Society and also the Ladies Auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus. In fact, she was the 1st President of the Ladies Auxiliary, serving a couple of different times. Catherine was an avid bowler and competed in bowling leagues with her husband for many years. She also loved to knit and would knit mittens and other things for her children and grandchildren. Travel was something she really loved and she would plan a family vacation every year, starting when the youngest was a year old. Travel was always by car, she was the navigator and her husband would drive but there is so much more you can see of the country that way. They eventually traveled to all 48 of the contiguous states. Catherine and her husband Daniel were married 62 years, from 1954 until his passing in 2016. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Red Cross.
