Kraus, Bernice Laird 97 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on May 17, 2016 in Prince Frederick, MD. Bernice was born in Union City, NJ to Thomas & Isabelle Laird on July 17, 1918. She worked as a secretary for Our Lady of Perpetual Help for 35 years. Bernice is survived by her children, George, Mary Ann, Peter, Karen Shattuck, Bonnie Hoeger, 6 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband George and her brother & 2 sisters. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on May 26 at 9:30 am with Father Tom of OLPH officiating. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. Visitation will be held at Oakland Memorial Home 330 Ramapo Valley Road Oakland, NJ (Rt. 202) on Wednesday, May 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
