Barindra Kumar Dasgupta 91 of Oakland died Monday January 8, 2024. Born in Ranchi, India he immigrated to the United States in 1989 and eventually became a U.S. citizen. Barindra settled in New York and spent the first 25 years in America there, he then moved Haledon before finally settling in Oakland. Barindra holds a degree in electrical engineering. He worked with the Indian Navy, American Airlines and United Airlines. Barindra is predeceased by his wife Snigdha Sengupta. He is survived by his son Balendu and wife of Oakland, by a grandchild Aadhya, and by three sisters and a brother. Viewing hours are Thursday 4-8PM at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland, NJ 07436. Funeral services will begin 11:30AM Friday at the Funeral Home with a 1PM service at the chapel of Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 200 McLean Blvd., Paterson, NJ 07504
