Barbara Kim Henderson (nee Corneille), 63, of Oakland, NJ passed away suddenly on April 28, 2016. Beloved wife of William C Henderson and cherished and devoted mother of Tara Jayne Henderson-LaStella and her husband Matthew LaStella. Treasured sister of James E. Corneille III of Savannah, GA. and daughter in law of William and Marjorie Henderson of Bergenfield. Predeceased by her loving parents, James E and Dorothy F. Corneille II. Barbara grew up in Bergenfield, graduating from Bergenfield High School, class of 70 before moving to Oakland in 1977. Barbara was a dental assistant at Bloch & Bloch in Teaneck, NJ before graduating Montclair State University Cum Laude in 1999. She went on to teach English at Montclair High School and worked as a freelance writer. Barbara cared for her dear mother for 18 years and mentored her daughter Tara to graduate with honors from both high school and college. She was a devoted stage mom as Tara pursued her love for theater and vocal performance. Barbara will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters in laws, Brian and Cheryl Henderson, Nancy and Michael Bagwell, Todd and Margaret Henderson and many nieces, nephews and God children. Visitation, Thursday May 5th at the Oakland Memorial Home from 2 to 4 an 7 to 9 followed by the Celebration of Barbara's life on Friday May 6 at 11 AM at South Presbyterian Church, Bergenfield, NJ.
