Arlene Margaret Sullivan, 83, of Oakland, NJ passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, in Oakland, NJ on 10/28/22.

Arlene was born on 10/29/1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Mary (nee Deigman) and Alfred Steinbuch.  Arlene graduated from High School and married the love of her life, Michael Joseph (Joe) Sullivan in Brooklyn NY in June, 1960.  Arlene and Joe soon started a family and moved to Oakland, NJ in 1972. They went on to raise Michael, Mary and Paul.

Arlene went on to work at Stryker Corp. for many years, finally retiring in 2005.  Beginning more than 50 years ago in Belmar, NJ to LBI and Bermuda in between, Arlene and Joe were always happiest at the beach.  Arlene loved having her family and friends with her and the sand between their toes and a cold drink in hand!

Arlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael "Joe' Sullivan, her daughter Mary Gleeson, son Paul Sullivan, son-in-law Michael Gleeson, grandchildren Michael Sullivan and his wife Kai, Ryan Terhune and his wife Victoria and family, Colin Gleeson, Chloe Gleeson and Mikayla Gleeson.  Arlene is predeceased by her son Michael Sullivan, sister Barbara Hickey, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Mann and dear friend Muriel Koch.

Family and friends are welcome to visiting hours Sunday, 10/30 from 2-6 pm at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road (Rt 202) Oakland, NJ.  Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 117 Franklin Ave. Oakland, NJ on Monday, 10/31 at 11am.
