Andrew Robert Durante, 67, of Ringwood passed away on February 8, 2017 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pequannock, N.J. Memorial services will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday, February 12, at the Oakland Memorial Home with Pastor Sandy of the Wanaque Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, February 13, at Pond's Cemetery in Oakland at 10:00 a.m. Andy was born in The Bronx to Anthony and Mary Durante on February 1, 1950. He went to school at St. Mary Star of the Sea on City Island, N.Y. He married Joan Page on June 1, 1974 in Hastings On Hudson, N.Y. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament H.S. in New Rochelle, N.Y. and received an aeronautics degree from Teterboro School of aeronautics in Teterboro, N.J. He worked as Director of Engineering for Palladia, Inc. for 20 years. He was a private first class stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and was awarded a National Defense Medal. He was a coach for little league baseball, basketball and football. Andy is preceded in death by his parents. Andy is survived by his spouse of forty two years and children Dana Durante and Adam Durante and his brother Anthony Durante and three beautiful grandchildren, Kolton Schlemmer, Anthony Durante and Andrew Durante. Andy was a beloved member of his extended family, his brothers and sisters in his fellowship, and everyone who reaped the kindness and generosity of his presence.
