Kuchler, Jr. DMD, Albert F., age 73, of Ringwood, NJ on November 27, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Voorhees, NJ by his wonderful late parents Albert Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Marko) Kuchler. Albert later lived in Teaneck and Hackensack, NJ for seven years before moving to Ringwood in 1980.
Albert attended Paul the VI High School, Haddonfield, followed by Marquette University and then graduated Fairleigh Dickinson School of Dentistry, formerly in Hackensack, NJ in 1977. He served a three year residency in Oral Surgery in Lincoln Hospital, South Bronx, NY. As a board certified Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon, he worked at his two locations in Wayne and Hawthorne, with his business partners in the offices of North Jersey Oral Surgeons. He was part of the on-call staff at Chilton Hospital, Wayne General, and Valley Hospital He eventually transitioned from a partner to owner of this practice.
Retirement came unexpectedly in 2017 due to a serious bout with cancer. Dr. Kuchler enjoyed his patients so much that he was known for always calling each of his patients after surgery to ease concerns and assess their progress. He maintained his membership in AAOMS (American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) to stay educated on all the latest aspects of his profession.
Besides his career, leisure time was spent traveling, being at home with his wife, taking pride in his yard work, enjoying quality time with his 2 late dogs Pepper and Putter over the years and of course “on the course”. Golf for “Doc” was surely his passion. As a “Rules Official” with USGA & NJSGA he officiated in tournaments thruout the country at some of the most spectacular US Golf Courses. He lectured on the rules of golf to members of USGA and NJSGA. When summoned he would gladly be a rules official annually at the USGA Junior Amateur Championship. He was an active member in the NJSGA and enjoyed serving on several of their committees.
Al traveled in earlier years with PGA Partners group to travel and play on breathtaking courses around the world. However Al could never get enough of local golf with his great buddies on nearby courses and especially at the former High Mountain Golf Club in Franklin Lakes. They spent many hours together enjoying “the game” as well as catching lunch or dinner there where they were always treated so well. Many trophies attest to Al’s hours of practice and playing over the years.
A sports fan for sure! Philadelphia sports teams brought him hours of enjoyment and angst especially when he was not feeling up to par. Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, March Madness, the World Series and an especially memorable Super Bowl in the Meadowlands with his friend Lou all made life good.
Albert is survived by his wife Toni (nee Scordato). An Aunt Doris Marko as well as the best cousins and their families, too many to mention, whom he loved and missed seeing. They are the Kuchler, Ross, Mulligan, Hromoga-Marko, Duffy, Kauermann, and Ryan families.
Al is also survived by his late father-in-law, Anthony F. Scordato's dear wife Annette Scordato (nee Oltremare).
Fondly he will miss his entire family, the dearest and most steadfast friends, neighbors, dedicated former staff, Toni’s extended family, colleagues, travel, dining out in good company, sports and golf in any way, shape or form.
